Job summary

Qualifications

• BS/MS in an Engineering field (Electrical/Mechanical/Control Systems/CS&E/Mechatronic/Automation).
• 3–5 years as a hands-on Controls Engineer or Applications Engineer in automation.
• Proficiency programming industrial process and manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to program machine vision systems and image processing software (Teledyne Dalsa, Cognex, Keyence, Basler, Fanuc).
• Proficiency programming and tuning variable frequency drives.
• Advanced proficiency with Python, VB, .NET, C, C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain manufacturing data collection systems and data sharing systems.
• Develop PLC code and provide machine control configuration and validation for production equipment.
• Provide documentation for work instructions and validation packages.
• Spec machine vision systems and maintain output quality.
• Provide technical support for automation across plants.
• Travel to other facilities for new program launches or installations.
• Ensure equipment meets safety and environmental standards.
• Identify advancements to reduce cost and improve quality/efficiency.
• Manage vendors and contractors for required scopes.
• Support manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and maintenance teams.
