Deckorators in Buffalo, NY seeks a Controls Engineer to lead automation and control system development. You will drive plant performance via SCADA, PLC, and HMI programming, system integration, and continuous improvement across the flagship facility.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in industrial automation, strong hands-on problem solving, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, IT, production, and operations. This full-time role is based at the Buffalo plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 10+ years in industrial automation, SCADA, and PLC-based controls.
• Ignition 8.1 development (preferred).
• Experience with PLCs from Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Rockwell.
• Understanding MES, IIoT, industrial networking, and machine integration.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and implement SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems.
• Troubleshoot OT issues involving SCADA, IIoT, MES, and networks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and optimize control systems.
• Lead commissioning and testing during plant startup and expansion.
• Partner with engineering, IT, production, and quality to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Plan system upgrades and pilots for new technologies.
• Train teams on system functionality and safe controls.
• Support data acquisition and OEE-driven decision making.
