Job summary

Jennmar Automation, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer II responsible for the full lifecycle of custom automation and process control systems—from concept validation through programming, system integration, debugging, and final on-site commissioning. The role requires strong electrical design and software architecture skills along with adherence to standard machinery safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/automation/mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing and programming custom industrial automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06.
• Proficiency with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View.
• AutoCAD Electrical competency.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
• Robotics experience (FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa/KUKA) preferred.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle design, programming, integration, and commissioning.
• Develop machine control software architectures with PLCs and HMIs.
• Integrate robotics, vision systems, VFDs, and servo applications.
• Design electrical panels and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Provide on-site startup and client training.
• Ensure safety standards and risk assessments.
