Job summary

Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Controls/Electrical Engineer to lead a maintenance team and drive a 95% uptime through preventive and reactive maintenance, project management and system control improvements.

You will develop a production automation plan, standardize PLC/HMI/VFD platforms, and lead cost-saving initiatives while mentoring 3–5 technicians and ensuring safety and quality across the facility.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related experience required.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in controls/electrical maintenance.
• 3 years hands-on electrical experience, PLC programming and hardware troubleshooting.
• EE types: BSEE/BSEET/ASEE/ASEET or equivalent.
• MS Office proficiency (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Controls/Electrical Maintenance Team to maintain 95% uptime.
• Develop production automation plan across the distillery.
• Standardize PLC/HMI/VFD platforms and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Supervise and develop 3–5 Electrical/Instrumentation technicians.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental policies are followed.
• Oversee preventive/predictive maintenance programs and documentation.
• Provide leadership aligned with company culture and crisis planning.
