Job summary

CandidTalent seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer in Baton Rouge to lead end-to-end projects on the Rockwell stack, including RSLogix/Studio 5000 and ControlLogix. You’ll work in production environments across sectors like baking, cement, water and wastewater, plastics, and distribution, with HMI/SCADA on FactoryTalk, AVEVA, or Ignition depending on the project.

You will design UL 508A panels, program PLCs/HMIS, design industrial networks, specify VFDs, run FATs, and travel to client sites

Qualifications

• Five+ years of controls engineering experience, ideally at a systems integrator.
• Strong Rockwell PLC programming background.
• Deep experience with at least one major HMI/SCADA platform (FactoryTalk, AVEVA, or Ignition).
• Ethernet/IP and industrial networking competence.
• Ability to read and adapt control panel drawings and ladder schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design or adapt UL 508A panels and program PLCs and HMIs.
• Design industrial Ethernet/IP networks and specify VFDs and drive assemblies.
• Perform factory acceptance tests and travel for commissioning and startup (≈5%).
• Own projects from design through startup and manage budgets.
