Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing in Wooster, OH is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design, testing, installation and maintenance of large-scale electrical systems in our manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in automation, strong PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence, and familiarity with motion controllers (IAI, Yaskawa).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control system architecture for manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate new and emerging manufacturing and control technologies and adapt them into specifications.
• Confirm control system functionality and safety by designing and executing test procedures.
• Prepare electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Maintain process data integrity and support data collection initiatives.
• Perform audits, troubleshoot breakdowns, procure supplies and drive improvements.
• Manage supplier development and delivery; maintain project documentation.
• Handle multiple complex projects with minimal guidance.

This position will be based out of our Wooster, OH location.The Senior Controls Engineer leads the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing.
