Senior Controls Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to elevate our automation and controls initiatives. You will craft precision measurement and calibration automated processes, emphasizing safety. Responsibilities include researching new technologies for automation, designing and scaling automated solutions, and providing technical leadership and training to suppliers and project teams.

Description

As controls authority, your tasks will include:

1. Developing new or improved processes using engineering principles.
2. Architecting, coding, and debugging PLC ladder logic and IPC software.
3. Implementing safety systems compliant with ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA standards for various manufacturing equipment.
4. Creating simple, effective HMI screens for machinery.
5. Engaging in manufacturing, product, and process engineering functions, including design for manufacturability, product support, RFQ/RFP processes, failure analysis, data analysis, and process validation.
6. Traveling up to 10% internationally.

Minimum Qualifications

- BS or equivalent degree; MS preferred.

- 10+ years in engineering with at least 5 years in controls systems for automation used in assembly and inspection.

Preferred Qualifications

- Expertise in machine safety circuits and safety PLC programming.

- Experience with embedded systems, HMI software, and motion control systems.

- Proven track record in designing precision automation equipment and related specifications.

- Knowledge of machine qualification, calibration, and statistical analysis.

- Experience with electromechanical controls in high-volume automated environments.

- Excellent communication skills for a global environment.
