Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Controls Designer at Midstream Engineers. The Senior Controls Designer will be responsible for designing electrical power & controls systems. The role will involve collaborating with the engineering team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

Qualifications

5 years or more using CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical (Preferred). May consider if experienced in other related CAD programs
Assists in Defining Electrical and Instrumentation scope of work
Development of control panel layouts, electrical schematics, instrument and control loop drawings, assembly drawings and bill of materials.
Evaluate and recommend electrical upgrades to existing equipment or systems as required.
Experience with design application, specifying and selecting electrical components and instrumentation.
Design the installation and wiring of process instrumentation and control devices using documents such as I/O list, P&ID, customer specifications and applicable codes and standards
Design layout and wiring of PLC, VFD and motor control panels
Design layout and wiring of digital networks and connections
Interfacing with Engineers and other design disciplines such as mechanical engineering/design
Construct wiring schematics. Generate assembly designs for power distribution panels, control panels and remote I/O panels. Design is achieved using documents such as P&ID's, I/O lists, customer specs, and applicable codes and standards
Create and maintain bill of materials
Create conduit/cable lists based on schematics and field layouts
Interface with project management and project engineers during the design, execution and startup phase of projects
Provide assistance to panel shop or electrical contractors as required
PLC/DCS hardware design experience, preferably Rockwell (Allen-Bradley)
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; including Excel
Detail oriented with a solid understanding of drafting standards and design fundamentals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Must work well both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Good understanding of routing Conduit and Cable trays
Execute other tasks as assigned
