Job summary

Adaptec Solutions LLC in the United States is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership for architecture, integration and execution of control systems across projects. The role defines the safety approach, validates methods and sets the architecture that other engineers build within.

The position entails designing cross-cell networks, leading design reviews, FAT/SAT, and coaching engineers while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience required.
• 7–10 years in controls engineering with multi-controller architecture experience.
• Experience defining diagnostics, telemetry and safety approaches.
• Cross-subsystem integration and standards leadership.
• Commissioning strategy and readiness leadership.
• Vendor evaluation and influence on selection.
• Proficiency with Rockwell, Siemens and at least one SCADA platform.

Responsibilities

• Architect multi-controller systems, diagnostics strategy and data flow.
• Define safety approach and validation method for a system.
• Design cross-cell networks and own addressing conventions.
• Design reusable library objects; set program structure conventions.
• Set HMI standards and templates across platforms.
• Lead vendor and product evaluations; qualify new devices.
• Review design and quote requirements; address discrepancies before commitment.
• Estimate controls effort and assess technical risk at quotes and kickoff.
• Lead customer design reviews, FAT and SAT, and manage escalated issues.
• Coach junior engineers; develop training content; act as platform owner.
