Job summary

R.L. Vallee, Inc is seeking an in-house Senior Accountant for our St. Albans, Colchester, or Berlin offices.

The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable processes to support growth across travel center, fuel distribution, convenience store, and trucking businesses. The candidate will manage month-end close, oversee accounts payable/receivable, and collaborate with finance leadership to ensure timely posting of transactions and reliable management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Experience with consolidated financial reporting and intercompany accounting.
• Experience supporting audits, tax compliance, and bank relationships.
• Supervisory or accounting team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Oversee multiple revenue streams and related accounting across locations.
• Supervise accounting staff and coordinate with external auditors.
