Job summary

Air Lift Company in Lansing, Michigan seeks a Controller to ensure integrity and timeliness of accounting and financial reporting. You will provide leadership for the accounting function, oversee day-to-day operations, and develop scalable financial processes with a business-partner mindset.

The role requires CPA credentials, 10+ years of accounting experience, and 5+ years in leadership, with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and ERP system proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
• CPA license (required)
• 10+ years in accounting/financial experience
• 5+ years of accounting leadership
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls
• Experience leading month-end/year-end close and preparing financial statements

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Company's accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all accounting activities and financial reporting.
• Manage and develop the accounting team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and opportunities for professional growth.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and continually identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Prepare, review, and ensure the integrity of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Lead financial risk assessment activities and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Coordinate external audit activities and serve as primary contact with outside audit partners.
• Coordinate preparation of tax schedules for external professionals.
• Oversee accounting for inventory, fixed assets, capex, and other significant accounts.
