Job summary

Air Lift Company in Lansing, MI is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function, ensure accurate financial reporting, and develop accounting policies. The role requires CPA and 10+ years of accounting experience with 5+ years in leadership, within a manufacturing context.

The Controller will drive month-end close, strengthen internal controls, coordinate external audits, and support strategic decisions with financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting and financial experience.
• 5+ years of demonstrated accounting leadership experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls.
• Experience leading month-end and year-end close processes and preparing financial statements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial decision-making skills.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Company’s accounting function and financial reporting.
• Manage and develop the accounting team with clear expectations and growth.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and ensure integrity of financial statements and schedules.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting standards.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and tax schedules with external professionals.
• Oversee inventory, fixed assets, and capital expenditures accounting.
