Job summary

Reeves County Emergency Services District Nos. 1 & 2 seeks a Controller to oversee daily accounting for two districts under the CFO. You will maintain general ledger integrity, manage month-end close, and coordinate audits while supervising the AP/AR Specialist.

The role supports executive financial leadership, budget development, and long-range financial planning, interacting with district leadership and auditors to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience.
• Experience with governmental, public-sector, fund accounting, or special district accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the daily accounting operations for RCESD1 and RCESD2 with separate records.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate transactions.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and fiscal year-end close processes.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, trial balances, and variances analyses.
• Oversee payroll accounting reconciliation and ensure accuracy of GL accounts.
• Coordinate with HR and Payroll on payroll accounting matters.
• Assist CFO with budgets, audits, and capital assets management.
• Maintain internal controls and support external audits.
