Suntex Marinas in Dallas, TX, seeks an Assistant Controller to lead consolidated financial reporting for a multi-entity marina portfolio. The role blends Capex and fixed-asset accounting with technical research, corporate close, and audit support.

You will collaborate with FP&A, Development, Treasury, Tax and senior leadership to resolve complex accounting matters, strengthen controls, and drive process improvements using NetSuite and related close tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
• Active CPA license is required.
• Eight or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong command of US GAAP with experience writing technical memos.
• Experience managing external audits and supporting internal control programs.
• Experience with fixed asset and construction-in-progress accounting; real estate/multi-site preferred.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, lease accounting software, and Workiva is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Capex accounting ownership across development projects and depreciation commencement.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly Capex packages and budgets vs. actuals.
• Oversee fixed asset subledger integrity, roll forwards, and impairments.
• Support corporate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Research and document positions on complex transactions under US GAAP.
• Prepare technical accounting memos for review by VP and auditors.
• Monitor new FASB standards and assess impact.
• Review significant contracts, leases, and amendments for implications.
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures manual.
• Support internal and external audit programs and lender reporting.
• Prepare consolidated and entity-level US GAAP financial statements and disclosures.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities using NetSuite.
