Job summary

CFS is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function for a multi-entity agricultural operation in Kern County. You will partner with executives and farm leadership to drive financial performance, manage a team, and implement cost analyses and forecasting across inventory-heavy processes.

You will oversee cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls while delivering timely financial reporting and actionable insights to production leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy industry.
• Strong inventory accounting experience including valuation, reconciliations, tracking, and financial reporting.
• Experience with cost accounting, cost allocations, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the farm accounting team and related financial reporting activities.
• Manage crop cost accounting, inventory tracking, cost accumulation, and farm allocations.
• Review inventory reconciliations and maintain accurate inventory reporting.
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, forecast costs, and explain variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for farm operations.
• Develop reporting tools, ERP queries, dashboards, and analytics to improve business visibility.
