Job summary

Central Valley Search Partners is seeking an On-Site Controller to lead the accounting functions for a California agriculture processing operation. This hands-on senior accounting leader will ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of financial processes supporting both plant and farm operations.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller and CFO, the role requires balancing accounting leadership with close operation involvement, developing staff, and ensuring strong internal controls while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA and/or Master's degree preferred but not required.
• Strong progressive accounting experience within a mid-to-large company environment.
• Experience leading an accounting function at Controller/Assistant Controller level preferred.
• Experience in agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, or multi-entity operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting for the California facility and related operations.
• Oversee local accounting team including Senior Accountant and AP staff.
• Provide oversight of accounts payable, payroll-related accounting/reporting, and reconciliations.
• Manage monthly close, journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Review and post journal entries and ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate with Corporate Accounting and plant leadership on reporting.
• Oversee filings and compliance for the operation.
• Develop, coach, and mentor the local accounting team.
