Job summary

Our staff of 650+ professionals provide integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions. MSG is growing and has a new opening for a Controller in Maumee, OH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 10-15 years accounting experience, with at least 7-10 years as a Controller.
• AEC industry background strongly preferred.
• Deltek software experience required (Vision, Vantagepoint, or similar).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll, WIP, fixed assets)
• Own month-end close, internal financial reporting including account reconciliations and ensure GAAP compliance
• Oversee project-based revenue recognition and ensure alignment with ASC 606
• Oversee annual FAR overhead rate audit and rate submission with state DOTs
• Oversee annual financial audit
• Assist in the creation of the annual budget and rolling forecast, including the 13-week cash flow forecast
• Play a key role in acquisition integration and financial system alignment
• Support cash flow management and performance tracking
• Improve internal controls and drive automation initiatives
• Manage and develop a small, skilled accounting team
• Work cross-functionally on projects and initiatives. Complete ad-hoc assignments as needed
• Other duties and responsibilities as directed
