Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join its Houston team. The role emphasizes Emerson DeltaV DCS and SIS across oil & gas, chemicals, energy, and manufacturing projects, with a path to technical leadership.

You will design, configure, test, and commission automation solutions, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients to deliver robust control strategies and seamless site startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automation or process control engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS is required.
• Experience with SIS configuration and implementation.
• Background in oil & gas, chemicals, refining, power, or manufacturing.
• Experience with one or more additional control platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Honeywell TDC 3000, ABB 800xA, Yokogawa CENTUM).
• PLC programming experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with field commissioning and startup activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop functional design specifications, control narratives, and test documentation
• Perform FATs, SATs, loop checks, and site commissioning activities
• Configure and troubleshoot safety instrumented systems (SIS)
• Work directly with clients to gather requirements and provide technical solutions
• Support migrations, upgrades, and modernization projects
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on projects

A growing systems integration business is looking to add a Senior Automation Engineer to its Houston team. This is an opportunity to work on complex process automation projects across industries including oil & gas, chemicals, energy, and manufacturing.

The role will have a strong focus on DeltaV systems, with involvement across the full project lifecycle including design, configuration, testing, commissioning, and client support.
