Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC in Providence, RI seeks a CRO III (Control Room Operator Level III) at Manchester Street Station to operate and monitor a combined cycle power plant, ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires 12-hour rotating shifts, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with the Operations Manager and Lead Operators, with union representation and licensure requirements to be completed within one year.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
City of Providence Boiler Operator License upon award of the position and a City of Providence Stationary Engineer’s License within one year.
Minimum of three years of operations experience.
Valid driver’s license.
All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor all major and auxiliary equipment of a combined cycle power plant, including start-ups and shutdowns.
Follow SOPs and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Comply with safety, NERC, and environmental regulations.
Observe and interpret indications from instrumentation and control systems during rounds.
Perform functional testing and adjustments on plant systems and components.
Assist in investigations and provide analyses, reports and follow-up plans.
Perform switching and tagging and maintain logs and reports.
Provide advice to the Operations Manager and Lead Operators on technical and administrative conduct.
