Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a skilled Control Panel Designer to own the full lifecycle of industrial control panels—from component selection and schematic development to vendor coordination and high-voltage validation. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, compliant panels that meet safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in panel design, hands-on high-voltage testing, and familiarity with NEC/UL 508A.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in control panel design.
Experience designing panels per NEC and UL 508A standards.
Hands-on high-voltage testing and safety procedures.
Familiarity with branch circuit protection, wire sizing, and power conversion.
Experience managing third-party fabrication vendors through design and build.
Familiarity with PLM, Jira, Jama for product development and requirements.

Responsibilities

Design industrial control panels compliant with NEC and UL 508A standards.
Develop schematics, layouts, and BOMs using EPLAN or equivalent.
Select components including breakers, fuses, connectors, and drives.
Specify components for high-voltage up to 600V AC and 2000V DC.
Coordinate with third-party vendors from design to acceptance.
Plan high-voltage testing procedures: hipot, insulation resistance, validation.
Collaborate with mechanical for enclosure, thermal management, and system integration.
Support DFMEA activities and risk mitigation.
