Role Summary

As a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer, you will play a vital role in driving automation and innovation across high-speed packaging operations throughout North America. This hands-on position involves designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting automation systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. Collaborating with teams in production, technical operations, and procurement, you will develop tailored solutions aligned with our growth strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
  • Design and implement automation systems for packaging, processing, and material handling.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and collaborate with vendors to address system challenges.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance line efficiency, safety, and quality while reducing costs.
  • Guide and support site engineers on automation concepts and specifications.
  • Stay up to date with the latest practices and emerging technologies in automation for packaging.
What You Bring to the Table
  • A BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Technical Engineering is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in an automation or controls role for a manufacturer, prefer food or high-speed packaging environments
  • Experience with automation control, PLC Ladder Logic programming, HMI design and configuring
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP is a plUS.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, depending on project requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • Direct involvement in automation projects within the food, beverage, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Experience working with equipment integrators and high-speed bottling systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced packaging and processing automation technologies.
