Job summary

City of Seattle’s Seattle Department of Transportation seeks a Senior Contracts Specialist to lead RFQ development and consultant selection, draft and manage contracts, and support project managers through the contracting lifecycle.

You will train staff on policies, ensure compliance with federal, state, and city requirements, and work with CCMS Masterworks, PeopleSoft, Laserfiche, and OpenGov for contract tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, economics, English, or a similar field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, project management, grant administration, inter-agency agreements, contract administration, or related work.
• Experience working with public sector contracts and rules from city, state, and federal agencies.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work.
• Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Sign; familiarity with CCMS Masterworks, PeopleSoft 9.2, Laserfiche, OpenGov.

Responsibilities

• Develop RFQs and manage the consultant selection process from start to finish.
• Draft, execute, amend, and authorize consultant contracts and work authorizations.
• Support project managers by guiding them through the contract process and providing SME input.
• Train staff and consultants on contracting policies and best practices, including applicable laws and regulations.
• Input and track contracts in CCMS Masterworks, PeopleSoft 9.2, Laserfiche, OpenGov and related systems.
• Collaborate within the Contracts Team to advance work and support diversity initiatives in procurement.
