Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA seeks a Senior Contracts Specialist to own the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts for orbital manufacturing initiatives. You’ll partner with the Contracts Manager from pre-award strategy through closeout, shaping terms for unique programs in microgravity.

You'll negotiate complex agreements, ensure FAR/DFARS and ITAR/EAR compliance, support proposals, and advise leadership on rights and obligations, including NDAs and partnerships.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of contract management experience with a government focus.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR export controls.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

About Varda

The Role

Own the full contract lifecycle for first-of-kind government and commercial agreements in orbital manufacturing and hypersonic reentry. You'll work directly with the Contracts Manager on everything from pre-award strategy through closeout.

What You’ll Do

• Negotiate and manage government and commercial contracts
• Ensure FAR/DFARS and export-control (ITAR/EAR) compliance
• Support proposals, remove blockers to contract signature, and advise leadership on rights and obligations
• Draft and review NDAs, customer agreements, and partnerships

Requirements

• 4–6 years of contract management experience, with a government focus
• Knowledge of FFP, OTA, FAR, DFARS, and NFS contract types
• Experience with ITAR/EAR export controls
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
• Up to 10% travel

Nice to Have

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Background in spacecraft, satellite, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
