Job description

REDHAWK Federal is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of defense contracts and subcontracts. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will serve as the primary point of contact for government counterparties—including DCMA Administrative Contracting Officers (ACOs)—and internal program teams. You will ensure operational execution strictly aligns with FAR/DFARS regulations, proactively mitigate compliance risks, and guide programs from initial award through formal closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day administration of a portfolio containing multiple contract types, including Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), and Time & Materials (T&M).
  • Analyze and process contract modifications, ensuring scope changes, funding increments, and period of performance extensions are accurately captured.
  • Lead the contract closeout process for completed programs, resolving outstanding final rates and securing formal release of claims.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate standard corporate agreements, including Subcontracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Teaming Agreements (TAs).
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Readiness
  • Interpret and apply FAR and DFARS clauses to daily operations, ensuring business systems conform to government requirements.
  • Coordinate corporate responses for routine DCMA compliance reviews and DCAA floor checks or financial audits.
  • Monitor limitation of funds/costs (FAR 52.232-20/22) and issue formal notifications to the government to prevent funding shortfalls.
  • Maintain pristine, audit-ready contract files within internal electronic repositories to track contract history and deliverables.
  • Partner with Program Managers (PMs) to interpret complex contract requirements, track deliverables, and manage risk.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate billing structures, validate cost collections, and accelerate cash flow.
  • Participate in proposal preparation by reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and drafting risk assessments on terms and conditions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of progressive experience in federal contract administration, specifically within the defense or aerospace sectors.
  • Regulations: Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, specifically parts governing contract modifications, billing, and property administration.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to independently evaluate contractual issues and develop compliant, business-friendly solutions.
  • Communication: Confident communication skills to brief internal executive leadership and negotiate effectively with government officials.
  • Organization: Capability to balance multiple competing deadlines across a multi-million dollar contract portfolio.
Security & Certifications
  • Clearance: Must hold an active Secret security clearance, or possess the eligibility to successfully obtain one.
  • Certifications (Preferred): National Contract Management Association (NCMA) certifications, such as the Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), are highly valued.
