Overview

Responsibilities

Use skills as a seasoned research administrator to oversee extramural research proposals, awards, and transactions related to contract and grant management. Maintain contract and grant records in compliance with institutional research sponsor policies. Analyze funding data and manage complex proposals with multiple investigators, subawards, and cost‑share tracking. Approve transactions for signature by authorized institutional officials. Guide less experienced staff.

Qualifications

Required:

• Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
• Competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software for financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
• Independent judgment, strong organization and communication skills, and a customer‑service focus.
• Current knowledge of compliance regulations in research administration.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal, and reporting principles.
• Knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures, and techniques.
• Strong writing skills; ability to draft persuasive text for various audiences while ensuring adherence to funding sponsor guidelines.
• Intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience or training.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

• Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of federal and non‑federal sponsors, preferably in a university environment.
• Ability to manage a significant volume of transactions.
• Experience with the Kuali Financial electronic system for processing financial transactions.
