NATO is seeking a Senior Contracting Officer at their headquarters in Missouri, Belgium. The role involves managing the procurement of goods and services supporting various 2030 initiatives and ensuring compliance with NATO's rules and regulations.

Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) provides an integrated Strategic Effects framework, employing a multi‑domain and multi‑region focus to create a 360‑degree approach, with the flexibility to enable, upon direction, a seamless transition from Baseline Activities and Current Operations (BACO) up to the Maximum Level of Effort (MLE). SHAPE supports SACEUR in fulfilling his terms of reference, as directed by the North Atlantic Council.
The Finance and Acquisition Directorate is responsible for all international and multinational appropriated and non‑appropriated funds in ACO, supervising subordinate ACO commands and developing financial and acquisition policies. It represents SHAPE/ACO in the Budget Committee, participates in the development of international agreements and the annual Consolidated Resource Plan (CRP), and advises the SHAPE Command Group on military budget‑funded requirements. The Directorate plans and executes the annual ACO military budget with contracting, finance and accounting, and cash management, ensuring coordination with external entities.
The incumbent is a senior contracting officer responsible for the procurement of goods and services in support of 2030 initiatives and other DDA‑related procurement, acting on behalf of the Head of ACO Strategic Acquisition Management.
The employee may be required to perform similar duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without contract change. This is a mandatory deployment post; deployments may exceed 30 days up to 183 days within any 547‑day period and may be on short notice.

The incumbent ensures the timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services required for SACEUR’s missions, supporting both peacetime and crisis operations and enhancing Allied Command Operations’ credibility. The role contributes through proactive identification and correction of potential problems and continuous improvement of working methods.
Duration of contract: Project Linked NATO International Civilian (PLN) with a three‑year definite duration under the NATO 2030 Agenda; on expiry the contract will be deleted or absorbed into the ceiling pending approval or may be considered for extension. Salary: Basic entry‑level monthly salary defined by NATO grade, may be augmented by allowances and subject to approximately 20% withholding for pension and medical insurance contributions.
