Job summary

Evonik is seeking a Contract & Claims Manager in the United States to lead contract and claim management for large CAPEX investments. You will work in cross-functional teams with engineering and legal colleagues to define strategies, align documentation, and mitigate risks throughout tender to execution.

The role requires a strong background in contracts, claims, and commercial management, with proven stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in engineering, business administration or equivalent qualification.
• 5–10 years of experience in contract, claims, and commercial management of large CAPEX investment projects (EPC/EPCM/GC/DB delivery).
• Understanding of project phases, interfaces between stages, and risk allocation between owner and contractor.
• Experience supporting complex CAPEX projects, including change orders, contractor performance issues, and risk mitigation.
• Established project management skills and knowledge of relevant IT tools.
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement contract and claim management in investment projects in cross-functional teams.
• Develop contractual strategies with the project team and ensure QA of tender and contract documentation.
• Provide commercial support from tender through project execution and manage contractor interfaces and risks.
• Lead negotiations of contractor and owner claims with the project team.
• Prepare claim reporting and project documentation.
• Drive training programs for project teams on contract and claim management.
