Job summary

Generac is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer III at our Whitewater, WI facility. You will lead and coach the implementation of lean initiatives across the value stream, applying the Generac Manufacturing System (GMS) and tools like Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, and standard work to eliminate waste.

You will mentor teams, develop standard work, and collaborate with the corporate Continuous Improvement group to advance facility plans and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • Experience implementing Lean principles in manufacturing/operations.
  • Proven ability to lead continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and GMS.
  • Develop, document, and implement standard work to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor facility teams in Lean principles and tools; align with corporate CI team.

TheContinuous ImprovementEngineerIIIis responsible forleading theimplementation of operational process improvementsutilizingthe Generac Manufacturing System (GMS) across the value stream in a manufacturing or distribution facility.TheContinuous ImprovementEngineerIIIprovides hands on executionand coachingof the lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Line/Cell Design, Single Piece Flow, Material Flow, Visual Management, SMED, TPM, Root Cause Problem Solving, etc.) and tools to eliminate waste in all operations functions.The Continuous Improvement EngineerIIIprovidesContinuous Improvement solutionsto solve complex process issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coach and lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiativesutilizingLean principles(Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work,Line/Cell Design,Single PieceFlow, Material Flow, Visual Management,SMED, TPM, Root Cause Problem Solving, etc.)andtheGMS.
  • Coach others to develop and implementContinuous Improvementsolutions to solve complex process issues
  • Develop, document, and implement standard work to provide a basisofcontinuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide facility team members and peers in the understanding, use and implementation of Lean principles and tools.
  • Participatein theimplementationof standards and programs with the corporate Continuous Improvement team.
  • Participate in theimplementationof facilitystrategic plans and initiatives.
  • Facilitate the flow of information sharing of best practices and external benchmarks.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5yearsof Continuous Improvement,Leanengineeringexperience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5years ofdemonstratedimplementation experience in Lean principles
  • Lean, Operationsor Supply Chain Certifications
  • Demonstrated experience inflow principles,Kanban, and plan for every part (PFEP)
  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership with a diversity of team skills
