You’re a Senior Content Strategist with experience leading the full content strategy lifecycle and advanced content strategy engagements.

You bring deep content strategy expertise and business acumen– combining both to identify concepts and patterns in complex situations. You’ve been known for solving problems with a pragmatic and practical approach, scaling your impact across the team.

The Opportunity

As our next Senior Content Strategist, you will build and lead content strategy across a portfolio of clients with increased complexity and strategic demand– serving as the Content Strategy subject matter expert across a spectrum of mid- to large-scale projects, with no oversight.

You will drive project implementation and lead advanced content strategy, working across disciplines to bring highly polished, innovative, and transformative digital solutions to life. Although you will not directly manage people, you will regularly drive team camaraderie, bringing empathy to create safe spaces for taking risks and healthy debate.

This role will ideally be based in the Chicago area for a light hybrid onsite/remote work model, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S.

  • Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): Develop strategies that improve clients’ visibility, legibility, relevance, and discoverability within AI-powered search and large language model (LLM) experiences.
  • Create and structure compelling content for websites, collateral, apps, and other digital experiences aligned to clients’ strategic imperatives and vision.
  • Conduct content audits and gap analyses.
  • Interview subject-matter experts to gather relevant background information.
  • Facilitate client discussions, workshops, and presentations with clarity, credibility, and confidence—guiding stakeholders toward alignment, informed decisions, and actionable outcomes.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to create and refine solutions.
  • Apply AI to accelerate and deepen strategic work (e.g., research, theme identification, concept exploration), while critically evaluating outputs and implications.
  • Collaborate with teammates to assess how AI may enhance or impact a client’s business, customers, or employees—surfacing opportunities, risks, and experience considerations.

Power Skills

  • Empathy: Internalizes human experiences and perspectives to advocate and drive change
  • Business Insight: Applies business and customer knowledge to advance client goals
  • Clarity: Operates effectively and creates focus and certainty in the face of ambiguity
  • Communication: Delivers effective multi-mode communications with clarity and tact; leads by listening first
  • Collaboration: Partners deeply with others to meet shared objectives
  • Innovation: Generates and cultivates new ways for clients to be successful
  • Motivation: Action-oriented; takes on new opportunities/challenges with energy and enthusiasm
  • Resilience: Persistently works toward and realizes desired outcomes, even under tough circumstances
  • Adaptability: Pivots or refines approaches in real-time to meet shifting demands of different situations
  • Integrity: Has a strong sense of ethical and moral principles and adheres to them consistently

Required Experience

  • You bring 5 or more years of content strategy experience; agency or consultancy experience preferred
  • You have a bachelor’s degree—preferably related to marketing, communications, or writing/journalism
