Job summary

Lone Rock Point is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to tackle a legacy site with sprawl, delivering a cohesive structure, voice, and governance model. You will work with government clients and a design/dev team to audit, migrate, and sustain content that serves millions of citizens in plain language.

You will lead workshops, design IA, create WordPress content models, and enforce editorial guidelines that meet accessibility and plain language standards, mentoring teammates along the way.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in content strategy or related discipline with ownership of strategy.
• Experience running content audits and IA for complex sites with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of WordPress structures, including custom post types and blocks.
• Ability to write and defend plain-language content for a general public audience.
• Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.
• Experience facilitating workshops or training with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written communication translating research into actionable recommendations.
• Able to work remotely and be self-directed.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead content strategy engagements from discovery through launch, including audits and stakeholder interviews.
• Design information architecture and taxonomy for large WordPress installations.
• Build content models for WordPress blocks and templates with design/development teams.
• Write and enforce editorial guidelines meeting plain language and accessibility standards.
• Plan and execute content migrations, auditing legacy content and deciding on rewrites or retirement.
• Facilitate workshops and hand off editorial ownership to client teams.
• Use analytics and user research to justify recommendations.
• Collaborate with editors to consolidate content and ensure governance alignment.
• Hands-on creation and editing of plain-language copy and legacy-page overhaul.
• Mentor other content strategists and related team members.
