Job summary

Sierra Space seeks a Principal Contamination Control Engineer to lead major contamination control initiatives across aerospace systems, including satellites and propulsion. You will apply advanced material sciences and physics to develop innovative solutions and guidance for cross‑functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, oversee technical reviews, and present analyses to senior leadership, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 12+ years of related experience.
• Advanced knowledge in material sciences, chemistry, and/or physics.
• Ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
• Capability to contribute to development of new principles and concepts.
• Ability to provide solutions to unusually complex technical problems.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret or higher U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead significant projects in aerospace contamination control.
• Develop and maintain contamination control plans for programs and products.
• Apply advanced principles to solve complex technical challenges and document data/reports.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to other engineers.
• Represent the organization in high-level meetings and with external stakeholders.
