Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a Consumer Regulatory Compliance Senior Consultant to join its Risk Advisory practice in Minneapolis. You will help clients assess consumer regulatory risks across deposits, lending, privacy, and third-party relationships, delivering testing, monitoring, and internal audit support.

You will work with client executives, draft clear workpapers and reports, and contribute to practice development while building lasting client relationships in a fast-growing consulting

Qualifications

• 4 year degree
• Three (3) years of experience

Responsibilities

• Work closely with client executives and management teams to understand their businesses and assist in identifying and managing consumer regulatory compliance risks within their business processes and systems.
• Assist clients with understanding and complying with new or updated financial institution consumer regulations.
• Research and interpret new or updated regulatory requirements and help clients determine how those changes may affect their products, services, operations, policies, procedures, and controls.
• Stay current on relevant financial institution consumer regulations, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and industry developments.
• Develop and maintain a broad knowledge and awareness of the financial institution industry and regulatory changes and identify potential impacts to compliance programs, testing plans, and internal audit activities.
• Support our internal audit practice as a regulatory compliance resource on regulatory and compliance topics.
• Assist clients with implementing or enhancing consumer compliance programs, policies, procedures, and controls.
• Work collaboratively with engagement leaders and team members to complete projects accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and contribute to practice development activities.
• Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firmwide learning and development programs.
• Support the growth and development of less-experienced team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

• Perform consumer regulatory compliance reviews, compliance testing, monitoring, internal audits, and gap assessments.
• Evaluate compliance risks associated with areas such as deposits, consumer and commercial lending, mortgage lending, fair lending, marketing and advertising, complaints, privacy, and third-party relationships.
• Document testing procedures, observations, and recommendations in clear, well-supported workpapers and client-ready reports.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, risk management, or a related field
