Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation is seeking an experienced litigator to join the Consumer Litigation Team, focusing on deposit litigation. The role involves strategic management of defensive matters, with collaboration across the business and Legal departments to mitigate risk.

The position requires 8 years post-bar experience, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously in a demanding environment. On-site work five days a week across multiple U.S. locations, including Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and licensed to practice in good standing.
• 8 years of post-bar experience in law firm, government, and/or corporate settings.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize matters and manage time effectively.
• Ability to handle a heavy workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide significant internal client legal support day to day.
• Assess legal risk and provide advice to mitigate exposure.
• Stay current on legislation and case law developments affecting banking.
• Prepare or review documents and represent the company in transactions or litigation.
• Identify need for and direct outside counsel as needed.
• Possibly supervise other legal staff on active matters.
