Job summary

Mars Snacking! is seeking a Senior Consumer Technical Insights Scientist to manage projects and apply research methods across a variety of objectives.

This role will guide sensory and consumer research for product development, quality, and cost-reduction initiatives, based in Chicago or Battle Creek with up to 20% travel. You will provide leadership to cross-functional teams, develop complex research plans, execute studies, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Sensory Science, Food Science, Consumer Science, Psychology, Statistics, or related discipline; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum 3 years relevant R&D, technical, manufacturing, or innovation experience.
• Demonstrated success providing technical recommendations related to consumer psychology and behavioral science, food chemistry, packaging, statistics and product development as it applies to sensory and consumer research.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Functional Team Collaboration - Partner with cross functional product development teams to meet project goals. This position works closely with product development, marketing, marketing research, statistics, quality assurance, manufacturing and other Consumer Technical Insights (CTI) scientists. Together you will focus on the project objectives while developing customized research plans to meet objectives, conduct research, report and interpret results. Mentor junior CTI scientists.
