Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is a national engineering firm seeking a senior fire protection professional to lead project delivery and growth within the Fire Protection Engineering group. You will provide technical guidance, manage complex projects, and collaborate across SGH practices to deliver robust fire protection solutions.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience in fire protection, strong leadership, and a track record in marketing and delivering paid services.

Qualifications

• BS in Fire Protection Engineering; MS preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in fire protection engineering.
• Professional Registration in fire protection engineering.
• Experience as project manager on building and fire code consulting; fire investigation; performance-based design; and fire, smoke, and egress modeling.
• Working familiarity with fire and smoke modeling software.

Working under the direction of the Fire Protection Engineering Principal, this professional will provide technical expertise and guidance and contribute to the design, rehabilitation, and investigation of fire protection engineering projects, while supporting the continued growth of the practice.

• Extensive experience as project manager for different types of projects including building and fire code consulting; fire investigation; performance-based design; and fire, smoke, and egress modeling.
• Working familiarity with fire and smoke modeling software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to market and sell fire engineering services.
• Staff management experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Compensation

The below range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications and work location.

Base salary is a part of SGH's industry leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGH's Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.

This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

Senior Consulting Engineer or Senior Project Consultant:

$106,600 — $149,240 USD
