Description & Requirements
The research and development (R&D) tax credit is an incentive for companies to invest resources in the development of new and improved products, processes, and software.Forvis Mazars' R&D tax credit consultants work with companies in a multitude of industries to understand their R&D efforts and assist them with capturing these valuable tax savings.
- Providing research and development tax consulting services to a variety of clients including Fortune 500, private middle-market companies, owner-managed businesses, and start-ups
- Working as a multi-disciplinary team helping provide subject matter knowledge and experience
- Coordinating with the Manager, Senior Manager, or Partner on all phases of an R&D credit engagement including initial scoping, engagement letter, information requests, timely and proactive client communications, staffing requirements, project execution, and report and deliverable preparation
- Delegating work to and reviewing work performed by staff in accordance with their experience and capabilities
- Researching R&D credit statutes, regulations, and case law
- Gathering client documentation and assisting in the analysis of client data (both financial and technical)
- Performing research credit calculations
- Creating detailed reports to substantiate tax benefits
- Developing and reviewing descriptions of qualified project activities to support R&D credit positions
- Actively coaching and training staff on all facets of engagement execution
- Performing site visits to assist with client interviews

Illinois Wage Transparency
Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
