Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a procurement transformation advisor to support a wide range of Source-to-Pay and logistics projects.

You will analyze spend, develop strategies, run RFPs and build business cases to align stakeholders and deliver savings for transportation categories such as FTL/LTL and freight brokerage. You will guide client freight strategy, lead complex sourcing engagements, and contribute to change initiatives across procurement and finance functions, with a focus on risk management,

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional services consulting experience required; Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm background preferred.
  • Experience in transportation and logistics sourcing (FTL, LTL, intermodal, freight brokerage, or managed transportation services).
  • Familiarity with transportation market dynamics, carrier management, freight cost benchmarking, and bid process design and execution.
  • Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management, Procure-to-Pay Process, Item Cost Analysis, Supply Chain Risk Management, Basic Financial Modeling, Accounts Payable, Process Optimization, Change Management, Performance Improvement, Project Management.
  • Comfort and effectiveness leading moderately complex client working sessions and presentations.
  • Foundational client relationship management skills with a strong desire to be part of the sales process.
  • Prior experience using Lucid Software and/or Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support a wide range of Procurement Transformation projects, encompassing Source-to-Pay technology strategy, purchasing process improvement, operations performance enhancement, change management, program and project management, AI and data analytics.
  • Deliver strategic sourcing events for our client’s spend categories by analyzing spend, developing strategies, conducting RFPs, evaluating bid responses, building business cases, and winning stakeholder alignment to our proposed outcomes with a special focus on transportation and logistics spend categories such as full truckload (FTL), less than truckload (LTL), freight brokerage, managed transportation services, and related technologies.
  • Play a critical role supporting and leading transportation sourcing engagements, including carrier bid processes, freight market analysis.
  • Help guide client freight strategy, including mode optimization, fuel cost reduction, in-source vs. outsource, and logistics cost reduction initiatives.
  • Help organizations identify and analyze business challenges to improve procurement operations and their connection to finance and accounting.
  • Contribute knowledge and best practices pertaining to critical business processes across the Source-to-Pay lifecycle.
  • Support client's Procurement operations assessments and identify transformative change initiatives through detailed procurement analysis, including but not limited to: supplier spend, vendor master data, category savings identification, buy-pay channels, process & compliance management.
  • Drive third-party spend analyses and reviews against other internal and external data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, which are translated into category strategies for cost savings.
  • Lead workstreams contributing to maturity assessments across procurement capabilities, processes, and general operations.
  • Build procurement opportunities into prioritization frameworks and transformation roadmaps.
  • Develop data-driven business cases for transformational change programs.
  • Assess and elevate project issues, risks, or conflicts to leadership, proactively suggesting resolutions to ensure smooth project completion.
  • Support internal initiatives, thought leadership, or other practice-building activities.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring:

  • Direct experience executing transportation and logistics sourcing, either in consulting or in industry, including one or more of the following: FTL, LTL, intermodal, freight brokerage, or managed transportation services
  • Familiarity with transportation market dynamics, carrier management, freight cost benchmarking, and bid process design and execution
  • Knowledge of the following concepts: Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Contract Management, Procure-to-Pay Process, Item Cost Analysis, Supply Chain Risk Management, Basic Financial Modeling, Accounts Payable, Process Optimization, Change Management, Performance Improvement, Project Management
  • Comfort and effectiveness leading moderately complex client working sessions and presentations
  • Foundational client relationship management skills with a strong desire to be part of the sales process
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Suite, and ideally prior experience using Lucid Software and/or Power BI
  • Comfort with AI: Demonstrated ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance productivity and innovation
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Openness to learning and applying emerging technologies, including AI and automation, in alignment with firm policies and client standards
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; supply chain, procurement, or logistics designations or external certifications are preferred
