Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation is seeking a Consultant Plans Engineer to lead the Consultant Design Bureau in developing and managing major statewide consultant engineering projects and contracts.

The role oversees a team of 9 FTE and ensures compliance with engineering standards, state and federal regulations. It requires a civil engineering background, a Montana PE license, and strong project management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 4 years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience in design, construction, or maintenance.
• 2 years of experience in program or project management.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• A Montana Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing major consultant engineering projects and contracts for statewide MDT projects.
• Developing and administering Section policies, standards, and program functions.
• Supervising a staff of 9.0 FTE within the Section.
