Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Consultant Plans Engineer. This role serves as the Consultant Design Bureau’s Consultant Plans Engineer and Section Supervisor, responsible for developing and managing major consultant engineering projects and contracts for statewide MDT projects.

The position requires a Montana Professional Engineer (PE) license, at least 4 years civil engineering experience in design/construction/maintenance, 2 years in program or project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 4 years of civil engineering design/construction/maintenance experience.
• 2 years in program or project management.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage major consultant engineering projects and contracts statewide.
• Establish and administer section policies, standards, and programs.
• Coordinate design work between consultants and MDT.
• Supervise a staff of 9.0 FTE within the Section.
• Report to the Chief of the Consultant Design Bureau.
