HIG’s Healthcare Services practice (HCS), with offices throughout the US, focuses on serving private equity firm’s portfolio companies and public and private healthcare companies. Our HCS services include performance improvement/operational turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services):

  • Performance Improvement/Operational Turnaround: We draw on deep operational heritage and proven approaches to assess businesses and identify key areas impeding performance quickly and effectively.
  • Cost Optimization: A&M’s cost optimization program focuses on quickly identifying high-impact opportunities for EBITDA and cash flow improvements across the entire cost structure.
  • M&A Services: A&M supports companies throughout the M&A lifecycle, including conducting operational/synergy due diligence, integration planning and execution.
  • Finance Operations: A&M drives improvement to its clients’ finance operations, including management reporting and optimization of the month-end close process.
  • Interim Management: In select instances, one of HCS’s experienced operators may step into an interim role to drive change while a full-time replacement is being recruited.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Associate you will be working closely with healthcare clients, particularly in the MedTech and medical device space, on a range of complex assignments. You will use your independent judgement and critical thinking skills to gather data, design practical solutions and drive financial and operational improvements. Responsibilities may include:

  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce cost structure by redesigning org structures and minimizing/eliminating non-value-added tasks.
  • Reviewing Go to Market strategies including portfolio assessments, pricing, and sales force effectiveness.
  • Building and managing financial models and conducting financial and operating analyses.
  • Providing project management assistance and overall governance support to clients.
  • Utilizing and/or creating project management tools to track activities and progress.
  • Providing guidance to manage a client through crisis by assisting in structuring and executing on a performance improvement plan.
  • Developing operational data analysis to create KPI metrics.
  • Summarizing, drawing conclusions and creating recommendations from data sets.
  • Leading various work streams within a project.
  • Preparing client-ready deliverables and presentations.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Building relationships with clients and seeking opportunities to expand the scope of business.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives by assisting with pitch preparation and creation of marketing materials.

We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Associate, you will demonstrate leadership, integrity, and objectivity when interacting with clients:

General Skills:

  • High energy individuals with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of prior work experience in healthcare with a MedTech focus.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Solid project management and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of the MedTech industry.
  • Prior experience working with PE firms.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related healthcare fields.

Commercial Skills:

  • Familiarity with pricing structures and contracting processes.
  • Understanding of different commercial channels.

Operational Skills:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and logistics networks.
  • Understanding of inventory management strategies.

Compensation Statement

The annual base salary range is $125 – $150k commensurate with experience. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in A&M's fringe benefits and paid time off.
