Job summary

FTI Consulting in Houston seeks a Senior Consultant to support CFO advisory engagements, collaborating with internal teams to deliver high‑quality financial transformations for Fortune 500 clients.

You will develop tools and reports, build client relationships, mentor junior teammates, and help design data-driven finance solutions that streamline operations and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Masters degree in a business-related major or economics.
• 3+ years of experience in financial consulting or advisory or related finance roles.
• Experience as an external or internal consultant in FP&A, accounting/financial reporting, finance transformation, finance technology, or related areas.
• Ability to develop financial models in Excel with minimal oversight.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and FTI offices as needed.

What You’ll Do

TheSenior Consultantwill collaborate with various internal teams and help support and execute client engagements by. You will utilize your engaging and collaborative style to:

• Developing knowledge management, including tools, methodologies, reports, models, work plans, checklists and processes.
• Performing high quality client work and developing client relationships for CFO advisory service assignments, including taking a proactive approach and anticipating client needs
• Assisting with internal practice development and marketing, including developing materials, surveys, events and strategic case studies.
• Helping lead engagement work streams and projects with limited oversight.
• Serve as a positive role model to train, teach, and coach to junior team members.

What You Will Need To Succeed

Basic Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Masters’ degree in a Business related major or Economics.
• 3+ years of experience in financial consulting or advisory, or in a Corporate rotational program focused on developing financial leaders, or in execution or leadership roles in an industry finance, accounting or FP&A function
• Experience as an external (or internal consultant) with demonstrated experience in 1 or more of the following areas: FP&A, Accounting & Financial Reporting, Finance Transformation, Finance Technology, and/or Cash, Cost, and Capital
• Ability to quickly synthesize and advise on complex financial and operational concepts and issues; and translate those to clear and actionable recommendations and insights
• Expertise with Microsoft Excel and ability to develop financial models with minimal oversight
• Ability to travel to client sites and FTI office(s) as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business intelligence tools and/or data analytics is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) certification, or MBA is preferred

Compensation

Minimum Pay: $78,500

Maximum Pay: $163,000

Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
