Job summary

SOCOTEC US in New York seeks a Building Envelope professional to lead and grow our Façade Inspection and Safety Program services. You will manage IRA inspectors and FISP projects, perform rope inspections, and advise on exterior wall construction with a focus on quality and compliance.

You will collaborate across departments to document budgets and project needs, while maintaining strong client communication and timely delivery of durable, code-compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Façade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP) is a plus.
• Experience managing inspection teams (IRA) and coordinating project delivery.
• Familiarity with exterior wall construction, code requirements, and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management and growth of FISP-related services.
• Manage IRA inspectors and FISP projects; perform periodic rope inspections as part of role.
• Consult on facade design for enhancement or maintenance, including forensic review, bid documents, and construction administration.
• Collaborate with other departments to track project budgets and internal service demands.
• Communicate with clients and management teams to meet timelines and project goals.
• Maintain knowledge of local building codes and energy codes.
• Advise on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
• Document and maintain well-written reports on project activity.
• Support restoration division staff oversight and project progress.
• Assist with manpower planning and technical needs of the division.

Job Description

This person will be part of our Building Envelope division and will be involve in a variety of general functions, including but not limited to

• Assist with management, and growth, of our services related to the Façade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP).
• Manage our team of Industry Rope Access (IRA) inspectors and FISP projects; Performing periodic rope inspections should be expected as part the role and responsibility of this position
• Consult on existing facade design for enhancement or maintenance type projects: forensic review and analysis, Bid Document and repair detail preparation, direct Bidding Phase, and Construction Administration. Well versed in exterior wall construction.
• Work with various departments on our integrated internal services (proposing writing, internal tracking of our budgetary project requirements).
• Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams. Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
• Familiarity with building codes (including Energy Codes) in local markets
• Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
• Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity.
• Provide successful completion and history of managing projects and deliverables.
• Assist with the oversight and review of Restoration Division staff’s reports and progress of Projects.
• Assist with managing manpower and Division technical needs and initiatives.
