Job summary

J.S. Held LLC is seeking a Senior Consultant in Business Valuation to lead engagements from inception to draft, coordinating documents, models, and reports. The role involves client interaction, site visits, and potential involvement in related forensic engagements.

You will work in a hybrid setup commutable to Phoenix, with relocation options as needed. The ideal candidate will have a CVA/ABV or CPA, strong data-analysis skills, and proficiency in Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• Effective organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects/cases to meet fluctuating deadlines and pressure situations with incomplete information.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and translate them into a visual format (e.g., creating graphs of gross profit by zip code, comparing company to benchmarks over time, etc.).
• Strong written communication skills for drafting expert reports and other client communications.
• Detail oriented and able to reconcile/check work from multiple perspectives (e.g., foot/cross-footing of schedules, goal seeking, comparing cash receipts from bank statements to reported revenue, etc.).
• Ability to research industry/economic/benchmark data and apply to subject companies.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Valuation certification (e.g., CVA, ASA, ABV, CFA, etc.) or CPA.
• Bachelor’s Degree.

J.S. Held is a global consulting firm that provides technical, scientific, and financial expertise to organizations facing high-stakes events. This role involves preparing business valuations engagements from inception to the draft stage, including managing document requests and production, valuation models, report templates, site visits, and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Candidates will be primarily responsible for preparing business valuations engagements from inception to draft stage. This would include managing document requests/production, valuation models, report templates, site visits, and client interactions. Involvement with damages and other financial forensic engagements may be an option, if interested.

Location Requirement

Candidates should be commutable to Phoenix, Arizona on a hybrid basis or open to relocating to Phoenix.

Preferred Qualifications

• General understanding of economic damages and income taxes.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, IDEA/ACL, Tableau, and other data sources (such as RMA, DLOM databases, CapIQ, Able2Extract, etc.).
• Ability to research professional business valuation journals and be familiar with current trends, techniques, and court rulings.
• Potential to develop qualifications for expert testimony, if desired.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000. Salary will be based on a wide array of factors including skill set, experience, training, location, scope of role, and management responsibility.
