Insight is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead Microsoft security and governance engagements. You will design, implement, and optimize security postures across Microsoft 365, Purview, Entra, Defender, and related cloud solutions.

About the role:

Senior consultant with deep Microsoft security and governance expertise. Provide consulting, analysis, design, and/or implementation support for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender, and other cloud security and compliance solutions. These activities include project delivery, solution proposal creation and delivery, customization, and integration with the intent of optimizing the customer’s security posture, strengthening governance and compliance, and delivering business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver end to end project success in the Microsoft security and governance space, leading complex and varied engagements as required.
• Provide technical leadership and support for customers in highly complex cloud and on-premises environments, with a focus on security, identity, data protection, and compliance.
• Provide pre-sales analysis, design, recommendations, and support for security and governance solutions focused around, but not limited to, Microsoft Purview (data governance, data loss prevention, information protection, insider risk, eDiscovery, compliance), Microsoft Entra (identity and access management, conditional access, identity governance), Microsoft Defender, Zero Trust architecture, security assessments, road mapping, and strategy.
• Design and implement information protection, data lifecycle, records management, and retention strategies aligned to customer regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with the sales and services support groups, external vendor partners, and the customers to ensure a smooth project experience, from presales conversations, through to design, implementation, and support.
• Work closely with the rest of the professional services team and its partners and sub-contractors.
• Deliver projects, assessments, roadmaps, health checks, whiteboarding sessions, and workshops for customers.
• Mentor other subject matter experts covering Microsoft security, governance, and related technology.
• Participate in advanced staging, complex configuration, and secure deployment of security and compliance workloads.
• Ensure vendor compliancy strategies are met, including but not limited to certifications.
• Limited travel when needed to attend events, and help customers with their projects and business challenges, while promoting Insight values.

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years of Microsoft 365 and cloud security/governance delivery and design architecture experience.
• 5+ years technical consulting experience in a customer facing role.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience proving subject matter expertise.
• Expert level knowledge of best practices around Microsoft security and governance solutions, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, information protection, data loss prevention, compliance, Zero Trust, and emerging solutions and technologies within the stack.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, conditional access, and identity governance.
• Relevant security certifications preferred (e.g., SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated knowledge or understanding of cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Google, etc.).
