Job summary

DivergeIT is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Professional Services team as a trusted technical advisor. You will design, implement, and support complex networking, server, identity, and cloud environments and lead migration projects.

You'll mentor junior engineers, create runbooks and diagrams, and work with clients to resolve challenging issues while upholding confidentiality and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT infra, network engineering or systems administration, MSP or professional services preferred.
• Hands-on with firewalls, switches, VLANs, routing and VPN technologies.
• Experience planning and executing tenant, mail, file and server migrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain networking infrastructure including firewalls, switches, VLANs, routing and VPNs.
• Administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory with GPO, DNS and DHCP.
• Lead migration projects including tenant-to-tenant, mail, file, and server moves.
• Manage identity and access with Entra ID, MFA and SSO integrations.
• Architect and support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune).
• Manage print infrastructure and network printers.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex client issues across networks, servers, identity and cloud.
• Create documentation, runbooks, network diagrams and participate in client meetings.
• Mentor junior consultants and engineers.

DivergeIT is looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Professional Services team as a trusted technical advisor to our clients. In this role, you'll design, implement, and support complex networking, server, identity, and cloud environments — leading migration projects, solving tough technical problems, and mentoring the next generation of consultants and engineers. What You'll Do

• Design, configure, and maintain networking infrastructure — firewalls, switches, VLANs, routing, and VPN connectivity (Fortinet, SonicWall, Cisco, Ubiquiti).
• Administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Lead migration projects: tenant-to-tenant, mail, file/data, and server migrations, including on-prem-to-cloud and physical-to-virtual moves.
• Manage identity and access solutions, including Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, and SSO integrations.
• Architect, deploy, and support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments — Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
• Manage print infrastructure, including network printers, print servers, and driver/queue deployment.
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex client issues across networking, server, identity, and cloud environments.
• Create clear technical documentation, runbooks, and network diagrams, and participate in client-facing project meetings.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior consultants and engineers.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or systems administration — MSP or professional services experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, VLANs, routing protocols, and VPN technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
• Experience planning and executing tenant, mail, file, and server migrations.
• Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, and SSO solutions.
• Experience deploying and managing Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• A collaborative mindset — you work well with sales, technical delivery, and security teams.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (Information Technology, Business, or related field), or an equivalent combination of certifications and experience.
• Relevant certifications are a plus: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Fortinet NSE.

Good to Know

• This role is hybrid, based out of our Plano, TX office, with up to 20% travel.
• This position does not carry direct supervisory responsibilities, though mentoring junior team members is part of the job.
• You'll be exposed to confidential client and internal information and will be expected to uphold strict confidentiality standards.
