Job summary

Starr is seeking a Senior Underwriter to lead the Wrap-Up book of business within Primary Construction in the United States. You will drive portfolio management, underwriting analysis, submissions, quotations, and binders while mentoring staff and tracking pipeline.

Travel to key markets/accounts and cross-market Starr products, with a focus on new business production, account management, and profitability. Strong communication and relationship-building with brokers are essential.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years construction underwriting experience, including Wrap-Ups.
• Proven track record in managing an insurance portfolio.
• Developed relationships with wholesale and retail brokers.

Responsibilities

• Focuses on new business production and account management.
• Manages development, growth and profitability for book of business and assigned territory.
• Technical Casualty Underwriting.
• Producer development and management.
• Budgeting.
• Tracking rate movements within portfolio.
• Tracking loss activity within portfolio.
• Pipeline tracking.
• Travels to key markets/accounts and remains highly visible in the marketplace.
• Cross marketing with other Starr products.
