Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia seeks a seasoned construction/production management leader to supervise trades teams, coordinate activities, and drive quality and productivity across shifts.

The role requires extensive experience (BS/Apprentice with 8 years or non-BS with 10 years) and a track record of translating strategies into practical actions, ensuring compliance with drawings and procedures, and delivering results for major naval shipbuilding projects.

Qualifications

• BS/Apprentice + 8 years construction/production management experience OR Non-BS/Non-Apprentice + 10 years construction/production management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
• Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
• Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
• Responsible for complying with all drawings, procedures, etc., and for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process operations with significant financial impact.
• Monitors job and budget performance for all shifts.
