Job summary

Satterfield & Pontikes is seeking a General Superintendent to lead field teams and projects in the Houston area. You will oversee scheduling, safety, quality control, and production management, partnering with executives to ensure consistent high‑performing project execution.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years as a superintendent in large commercial construction, with a proven track record of mentoring leaders and driving continuous improvement on multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Extensive scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production management experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling and project planning methodologies.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and mentor construction professionals.
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to company systems, procedures, and standards with guidance to project teams.
• Support development and execution of Business Unit Plans and staffing schedules.
• Review subcontractor scopes during buyout and coordinate with project teams.
• Lead pre-planning efforts, CPM schedule development, and startup meetings.
• Monitor schedule progress, submittals, procurement, and production performance.
• Foster client and stakeholder relationships and lead field personnel development.
• Organize monthly Superintendent meetings focused on safety and operations.
• Identify talent and mentor key leadership candidates.
