Summary
As a Sr. Construction Scheduler, you will be working independently to coordinate and manage construction schedules for various projects. Schedulers are responsible for performing and conducting analysis of project documents and data, effectively relaying findings, and updating schedules. Schedulers are expected to use a large measure of independent judgement, considering, and weighing alternatives when appropriate, taking into account the financial and operational significance of the services being performed.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the development of schedules and ongoing schedule updates.
- Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.
- Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.
- Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and to resolve construction delay claims.
- Evaluate construction productivity and progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.
- Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays, effectively communicating findings.
- Operates on behalf of clients to monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other factors critical to operational efficiency and cost management during all phases of construction.
- Ensure consistent adherence to project timelines through effective scheduling and coordination.
- Review and synthesize relevant information to prepare technical project reports.
- Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
- Interface with other department employees, contractors, and clients on a regular basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent field preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience managing projects within the construction or engineering industry required.
- Ability to foster and sustain positive client relationships through proactive communication and reliable service delivery.
- EIT or PE, PMP, and PSP certifications are considered a plus.
- Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.
- Knowledge and experience in Oracle Primavera 6 required or similar project management software.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and ASTA PowerPoint preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team towards a common purpose.
- Previous experience with builder’s risk insurance policies, construction claims management, and managing contractors.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
