Job summary

McGraw Kokosing in Middletown, OH, is seeking a Safety Specialist to provide field support and help managers implement safety and health policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve overall performance in line with our core values.

Responsibilities include developing injury prevention strategies, delivering training, supporting pre-job safety planning, conducting audits, and coordinating with subcontractors to enforce safety programs on site.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA/DOT/EPA regulations and other safety regulations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work independently.
• Ability to work in a high production environment with long hours including nights/weekends.
• Ability to influence safety program implementation across teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Provide safety training and education to personnel.
• Support pre-job safety planning and emergency response planning.
• Lead safety meetings and training programs.
• Conduct safety audits, evaluations, inspections and behavioral observations.
• Assist in investigating injuries and incidents.
• Disseminate safety and health updates to the team.
• Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors and third parties.
• Serve as point of contact for OSHA and other authorities when needed.
